Further to my indicator issues, I have now acquired a 2nd hand high line becm with an amr part number. I intend to take the logic board out of the ywc becm (which is the one in my vehicle) and fit it into the 2nd hand amr becm which has a good power board. I suspect that the power board in my vehicle is faulty but its easier to swap the logic boards over rather than the power boards. This will keep all my settings as I understand it is the logic board that is programmed and avoids keeping the replacement amr becm complete and having to have the logic board programmmed.
My question :- Is an older high line power board compatible with a newer logic board or not and is there such a thing as a high line and low line logic board? I imagine that a high line power board is pretty much the same no matter what the year and all the logic boards are also identical and it's only the software that got updated over the years ? Correct me if I am wrong - preferably before I do the swap and connect it all up again lol.

Perhaps I should clarify: the logic boards just swap over fine but the early Lowline ones have either some internal logic or some different components that make them behave slightly differently. I currently have a Lowline logic board in a Highline BECM and it refuses to do anything other than behave like a Lowline BECM. :(

Interestingly enough, mine will be the opposite of yours then as it will have a year 2000 ywc high line logic board and an AWR high line power board (presumably before 2000 because of the AWR prefix).
The only thing i know for sure is that the logic board is newer then the power board but they are both hi-line so should work together properly in the hybrid BECM - I HOPE.

Usually AMR but you are right. Not sure when they changed. Maybe around 1999?
i have indicators now after the board swap but my rear screen wiper comes on as soon as the ignition is turned on and seems to be in intermittent wipe mode irrespective of wiper stalk position ?? lol

Dodgy switch? Check RAVE for earth points.

Do you have wipers on your headlights? Are they 'parked' properly? Mind you, you'd probably know if they weren't.

Wiper stalk was set to intermittent wipe - doh !!
just need to unblock the rear washer jet now and fix the dsp amp.
There is permanent live feed on the purple wire and also a live wake up feed on the grey/black wire from the head unit when its on.
cd cassette wont eject - it did when i first bought the car a month ago.
I could do with establishing if any other harmann kardon amps are compatible with XQK100340 as there are shedloads for bmw and rover/mg cars.
Mine hasn't got satnav.
I have read that the discovery one fits but not sure if it works all the speakers and the tape and cd player though ??
