I am new to the site :) I live in West Sussex and looking to buy a second hand disco 3. I have previously
owned a couple of landies and very much enjoy driving them.
So hopefully I will find the Disco for me very soon.

Hi All
Thank you for the warm welcome. :)
I must admit looking for a D3 and trying to keep track of all the possible mechanical issues is abit
daunting :0

Hi Hippo
When I eventually purchase my LR3 I will choose my battles wisely and accomplish as many of the maintenance jobs as I can.
I have been watching a lot of you tube videos regarding some of the reliability problems and I am
lucky I can turn a spanner. :) (which is an added bonus.)
Do you accomplish your own maintenance on your LR.

Eye try to maintain and service my hippo myself. Have been doing it for a number of years. At the start eye had to buy another tool every time eye did something. But eye now have a collection that gets most things done. It has been a learning curve. Eye also have my own diagnostic device which helps.

Bigger LR's are eggspensive when new. They drop in price over the years but they're still made of eggspensive parts. So running costs can be high. They often eat things like brake pads and bushes regular. When they get to about 100k miles they tend to need a lot of work doing. It is something to consider when buying the biggerer LR's.
