High every one, in site is a wonderful thing, I should have joined a year ago when I purchased my freelander 2. I am now on bending knees as I need some help and advice. I have owned my freelander 2 diesel auto for approx. 1 year, the last owner has ha the throttle body replaced. 6 months befor I got the car, I had some symptoms which were lurching and stalling, I took the vehicle to a local highly specialist LR garage and there were 4 fault codes. 2 were disregarded straight away, they were then wiped and told to bring back when symptoms re-appeared. Same 4 fault codes came up again, same 2 were disregarded, was informed possible sensor, part would cost £40, received a bill in excess of £350. Car ran okay until last Sunday, took car off driveway, lurched twice then drive normally. This morning, I did the same and the car stalled, got it going again and was fine. When driving home this evening, car cut out completely, message on dash reads 'reduced engine performance'. Had to walk home, no chance of starting. Tried to start car with second key fob, (both key fobs), no Christmas tree lights or system check, car will turnover for hours but will not start. I have ruled out the battery because it is turning over fine, the fuel tank has never been below half. If anyone has any idea I would really appreciate it as car is still at the side of the road and will require recovery and obviously to be plugged in to read fault codes. Am expecting huge bill and big headache!
