Hi all,
I have just bought my first landrover for weekend greenlaning and offroading. I managed to pick up a really clean 2002 TD5 disco, with 130k on the clock. Its is absolutely standard, only had 2 owners and never been offroaded! with the only mod being the airbags have been swapped for springs on the back. I have never dabbled with mechanics before, but i do love offroading and have done it a lot in the past with m8s, i would love some initial help on the first very basic things to do to the disco to prep it for some good greenlanes initially. Look forward to advice!

Hi and welcome!

A disco 2 is a great greenlaner! Don’t forget some pics of it and any mods you do. We like pics!

Heres a couple from when i picked it up, appreciate any pro observations...i went over the chassis with a small hammer and could not find any horrendous stuff....they owner said they only used it for taking their canoes to the local river and for tip runs! 20210204_105319.jpg 20210204_105336.jpg

You can do it yourself but it’s quite messy. Best done in the summer when the chassis is properly clean and dry and the product goes on easier in the warm.

Look through the disco section for typical faults and oft road kit tips.
