I've said 'ello so here's the Thread documenting my Range rover P38

It'll be a very slow project lol

Bought just a few months ago for scrap money this p38 was/is the bargain of the century!
She's a Vogue with all the trimmings.

NOW I WILL SAY, THIS PROJECT WILL BE SLOW.

INSURANCE OF COURSE IS AN ISSUE FOR SOMEONE MY AGE, MY GOAL IS TO GET HER IN TIP TOP CONDITION OVER THE COMING YEARS.
HOPEFULLY WHEN INSURANCE IS REASONABLE I WILL DRIVER HER...
MAYBE EVEN A CLASSIC CAR POLICY BUT YOU HAVE TO BE 21.

she's not quite as dirty as i would of hoped but oh well


She is Monte Carlo Blue Metallic

Now of course it wouldn't be a p38 without issues

She has had a varied life, previous owners were the kind that couldn't care less about maintenance so when i got her a full service was on the cards.
The engine oil was Black the oil filter was rusty and leaking so i set about a service.

Shell helix hx7 10w40 was used in the engine with a Mann oil filter

new oil hmmm






The radiator is weeping and corroded so a new one has been ordered just to keep the thing water tight lol

Its already pretty scratched and dented or patina'd as i like to call it

Nice project Watched. looking forward to some updates....

Little update for today.

New intake pipe fitted, the original was split.




The Old one had been butchered it the cars past and was covered in splits and funny repairs.





More damage!

Old radiator was full of pin-holes and broken fins so a new Britpart rad of questionable quality was fitted

Tidied up my engine bay

gave the intake and air-con compressor a lick of silver vht paint.

This made me Laugh a knock to its past found in the spare wheel well!!




I also found this under the passenger seat!! lol

Her Not so great bits!

the rear quarter panel has suffered in the past and has been badly repaired.






yikes! its not too bad from 10ft lol

A few stickers, coz ya know stickers add HP.

some nice interior touches IMO

Not trying to put you off too much but stop buying stickers and start saving for the never ending fixes. Nice motor by the way have fun and read as many old postes as you can and remember , Wammers is your new friend for life if you play nice
