Hi, I'm new to the site, and I'm having trouble with my landy! :(
I'm not very savvy when it comes to vehicles, so i took it to get a diagnostic test. These are the codes they gave me, and i looked up the rest...

P0300 - Misfire Multiple Cylinders
P0304 - Misfire Cylinder 4
P0305 - Misfire Cylinder 5
P1191 - Oxygen Sensor Heater Circuit Open Downstream
P1194 - Oxygen Sensor Heater High Resistance Downstream
P1313 - Misfire Catalyst Damage fault Bank A
P1316 - Misfire Excessive Emissions fault

What do i do now? I have no idea what any of these mean, nor how much it would cost to get fixed. And I have the feeling it's going to die on me at any given time this week. It idles badly, accelerates with trouble, and has also stalled out on me a few times.

Thank you in advance for your assistance!

get it to a garage, if you don't know what the codes are you ain't gonna fix it.
are you gonna do the work yourself?

i'd say you have a v8 that is misfiring and as a result you have damaged the cat..

you will need to start off by getting the timing sorted and there are multiple causes for the timing to be wrong.. if you are going to do it yourself get a copy of the rave cde and use the relevant diagnosis section in there which will tell you how to identify the most common reasons for misfiring.. if you are getting a garage to do it make sure it's one you trust and not a random guy who will just replace part after part until he stumbles across the right problem accidentally.. once that's done you will need to look to get the cat replaced or if on lpg removed..

do it fast the damage is only going to get worse.

Hi
I have a v8 and I suffered the same codes , my problem was twofold

The mass air flow sensor (about £80 and fit it yourself) and the coil packs and leads (£200 and a pain to fit, especially if you have lpg fitted)
the 191 and 194 codes could be a lambda sensor fault or just too much unburnt fuel due to misfire causing fault code.
hope this helps
Andy

No way am i doing the work all by my lonesome. My grandfather is adament about doing it and wont let me take it to a shop, otherwise i would have done so by now. BUT I have a feeling he doesn't really know what he's doing either. I think all hope for my landy might be lost...

Sounds like coil pack u/s which has resulted in the cat being flooded with excess fuel and then burning out as a result.

Get yourself a decent spark tester and test the distance the spark will jump.

what symptoms are you getting ? what made you get diagnostic check done.
When mine went I first had a problem at about 2500 rpm where it wouldn't rev past this.(felt like a rev limiter / fuel starvation)
the MAF sensor cured this. I then had a 'shudder' 50mph in top gear. this turned out to be the coil packs and leads. I dont know how old your truck is but i was told about 100k miles for coil packs

I've always found HT leads start to go quite badly after about 50 000 miles. That's why I drive diesels nowadays!
If you replace the HT leads on a V8 follow the original pattern and resist the urge to "tidy" them. Putting them too tidy can interfere with the spark pattern, so I'm told.

hello
the last time i encountered a similar sounding fault it turned out to be a coilpack was not working, when i took the HTleads off at the plug end they were all corroded up where they hadn't been firing correctly.

might be worth a quick look for the sake of 5 mins pulling a few plug leads off before paying someone else to do it ?
