Hi gents (and ladies)
I have an 04 Freelander 2.0 with the BMW diesel engine.
It's just passed its MOT.
I've had a boiling water sound when I stop the engine for a few days, earlier I checked the engine and there was no water in the bottle at the back left. There is no mayo I'd have expected in the oil lid or dip stick.
Just seems to be losing water, no wet spots under the car and no wet areas around pipes I'd expect a leak from.
Oil light seems to stay on til I start the up but the oil is at the right level and just changed during mot with filter change.
In all I can't see where the water is going.
Anyone any ideas?
Is it possible to have the chassis changed on the Freelander as can be done with a discovery.
Many thanks in advance.

The oil light always stays on until just after the engine starts.

Water pump to rear coolant pipe is a common fail point. Another fail point is the top hose outlet, under the inlet manifold. The coolant reservoir itself also cracks, allowing the coolant to escape.

No, it's a monocoque body, so it doesn't have a separate chassis like a Discovery.
