Hi guys and Girls,

Just wondered if any1 can help or point me in the right direction.

I was out driving at the weekend and my 1992 j plate 3.9 v8 auto range rover decided to not go into reverse, It still have drive but thats it. Is there a quick fix for this or will it be time to replace the hole box???:(

Any help would be welcome.

Thanks
Rob.

Yep. start car, engage neutral, lift bonnet, and check gearbox fluid level. Don't do it whilst engine off as it needs to be cold and running for the correct level to be indicated on gearbox dipstick (left hand side, near bulkhead, next to brake fluid reservoir)

try putting it into D and bump it forwards a few inches and then see if it will go into reverse.

if not it might get pricey!
