help with diff lock

Alright guys, problem with my 300 series disco i cant get the diff lock in evn tho i can change from high to low ratio with no problems!! What should be my first step is there an easy way to get the lever movin. Any suggetions?????

First thing to do is to get the linkages all freed up and lubricated.

thanks peter, but would it be easier to go in thru the top of the lever or attack it from underneath?? tryed the reversing method as well but nothing!

How do you know the diff lock isn't working? Is it just because the light isn't on ?? that doesn't mean the diff isn't locked. (my light works when it wants) Jack one wheel up off the floor and with diff lock engaged try turning the wheel if it won't turn you diff locks engaged.
or if you having trouble getting it engaged have you could try putin it in gear and lift clutch slowly trying to engage diff lock, you should get a clunk and it will go in diff lock, well works for me !!!
