Hi all,

wonder if anyone can help me please.. on taking off the lift pump on a 51 plate td4 i broke off 1 off the ends of a plastic t-piece of a fuel line that the bottom hose of the fuel pump was fixed onto, upon replacing that plastic t piece with a brass 1 the other fuel line 1 broke too.. i now have 6 yes 6 hoses that all connected into 2 t pieces then went onto the flow & return hoses of the 2 fuel lines that came up from the chassis to the engine bay..

can anyone post up a diagram of the fuel delivery system. flow, return, leak off, fuel cooling system, so i can see how the 6 hoses go into the 2 t pieces in which order.. im at my wits end with it & don't have a rave cd that may show me the fuel system layout for all these hoses either..

please help an old man from going bonkers as the car is stuck outside my home totally useless to me now...

One of the freelander boys should know and be along soon

thanks m8..

going nuts up here in torrential rain outside edinburgh. had to leave it because of the weather.. all because of plastic t pieces.. brass ones ready to go on when some knowledgeable person explains to me in which order they go on in, or can post up a fuel system diagram from the rave cd...

hi just looked at the description and opperation it is number 12 on the lay out and they are no ordinary t-pieces they are valves so the fuel can be shut of
hope this helps

m8 your a star, thanks a million.:)

1 of the previous owners had cut off the 5 way valve (Number 12 in pic) & ran everything through 2 t pieces:confused: talk about a bodged repair , god knows how much landrover charge for these but for all the hassle it would have been better to do a straight swap i'd have thought..

nightmare really.. replaced the plastic t-pieces with 8mm brass ones, can't get the last hose to tighten enough as it's plastic coated rubber unlike the restwhich are all rubber .. need a smaller jubilee clip to tighten it down with, then it should fire up if their all air tight of course..

but many many thanks for the help

hi all.

well the fuel lines are a mess on it.. & 1 of the fuel lines is 8mm plastic (fuel cooler flow in line) & the fuel clamp will not tighten air tight on it no matter how hard i try.. Has anyone any idea how much the 5 way fuel valve (circled in red) costs from land rover ??.. I've had to arrange a local garage to come & tow away & either fit a 5 way fuel valve or re-tighten all the fuel lines on the t-pieces so it goes as i need it for my holidays in 2 weeks time...

at least the garage has mechanics that are disco owners so hoping they cut me some slack with the repair bill & the very dodgy fuel line bodge that someone has done on it too..:(..

I'll post up how i get on & the cost too..

Plastic fuel pipes can be joined with plastic "push fit" connectors, available as straight, 90 deg bend and T pieces. We use then a lot on HGV and trailer air and fluid systems. Your local truck dealership will have them or any pneumatics outlet such as Thorites.
Hope this helps, worked ok for me on my old Disco, bypassed rotted sedimenter and fixed
main feed to injector pump when it sprang a leak.
