Help please Freelander brake light problem

Hi there, Im after a bit of help with a problem with my freelander td4 54 plate.

The problem is that all 3 of my brake lights have stopped working!! Obviously all 3 bulbs cant have all decided to pack in at the same time, I have checked fuse board, all seem ok, iv also taken rear lights out and checked connections, there is also a couple of electric connectors in rear quarter, these seem to be ok.

Any ideas??

might it be brake light switch? is there a fault with them? Iv put multimeter on it and there seems to be power going in to it.

Any help would be appreciated.
 
Multimeter at light socket positive and vehicle chassis for 12V

Multimeter at light socket earth and chassis for 0 ohms

Work from there......

Hi Fella, did you ever get to the bottem of this problem and sort it? I've got the same problem, all three brake lights are out... I've checked\replaced the bulbs and checked\replaced the fuse, with no joy... Help needed :confused:

There is a known problem with the brake light switch. An updated model is available ~£8 but requires a 3inch connecting cable because the plugs are not the same costs £9.
 
Do the checks 'skynet' suggested and post the results.
