Ive ran into a problem with my 2002 td4. Under load or above 2.5-3k rpm, the engine loses power, the mil light comes on and the engine goes into limp mode. If I then turn off the ignition and re start the engine, the mil light goes out and it drives perfectly again until I reach that 2.5-3k mark.

(I've checked all the hoses and they are fine, ive had them go before but never had the mil light come on)

Anyway I thought this might be the fuel pump and filter so I changed them and to my horror it's not corrected the problem.

Any how I did notice that my old fuel pump and the new one, seem to be running flat out all the time, especially when the mil light is active it seems even louder.

My thought is that it maybe the injectors on there way out. What i'm asking is, is there anything else it might be before I commit to buying the new injectors ?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Possibly the mass airflow meter: An '02 TDi wont be EOBD compliant, but there a few tools on the market that can read the fault codes to guide your diagnosis...
