Help needed!

Hi everyone, got a problem with my steering on the defender with (300tdi fitted) I was on motorway this aft and heard what sounded like a grinding noise coming from the right wheel area, got home and forgot about it, just gone to fill up with diesel and the steering feels heavy and when you corner the wheel isn't straightening itself up like it normally does! Not looked at owt yet as it's too dark and I don't really know what I'm looking at haha! So anyone got any suggestions as to what it might be, pics of parts I need to look at would be appreciated! Thanks

Well, oiled the ujs on steering rod thingy lol and it seems to have sorted it, should clean it more thorough after a pay and play me thinks! Will this have sorted it or is there a underlying issue? I've noticed there's play in the steering

Stiff UJs shouldn't cause a grinding noise. I assume you have oil or one shot grease in the swivel? Might be worth having a look at the condition of your balls (fnar fnar) and jacking it up and turning both wheels on full lock whilst having a good check of movement

Lol my balls look fine, externally anyhow, haven't got access to jack it at moment to check but will check that when I can cheers
