Hi everyone

My alarm keeps sounding for no reason. I was out switching it off again at midnight and battery is fine in car (started no problem) but when I set it the led light was flashing mad mental when first set then still flashing really fast.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Sharon

hi

when u set the alarm it will flash fast at first then after around 10 seconds will slow to a steady flash

had this happen to mine a few times , checked there was no water ingress around the alarm unit that sits in the roof

opened all my doors, cleaned all the rubbers and made sure every door and boot was closed firmly all the windows were up

have a look at the under bonnet push alarm catch , on the lhs as u look under the bonnet and make sure the wires arnt fraid in any way

may sound mad but even turning the car round stopped my alarm occassionally going off

since doing all the doors etc havent had any problems since

hope u get on ok

Probably the interior sensor. Try locking it with the key instead if the fob. This doesn't set the interior sensor ( so you can leave a dog tdc in the car). If the alarm doesn't go off you know it is the sensor or wiring. Is yours a 3 or 5 door?

wish i knew that back then, doohh, always learn the hard way by trial and error , lol

thinks its a 5 door in going by the avatar

found this by the way and lists about the alarm problem and mentions the sensor as u said, cleaver clogs, lol

If it is the sensor in the car you can disable then with a hawkeye and the. Still lock the car on the fob ur alarm will still work just throught the doors been open and ignition

Hi guys

Thanks for your response much appreciated.

I've checked out the link and my car is a 2002 so 4yrs after the fault was found so at least that's some good news.

Very strange thing is it's been parked at work all day and not gone off once. So far been parked up 45 mins and still not a peep.

Putting it down to some heavy rain sat/sun and will see what happens.

I intend getting rid of it end august so shall wait and see how things pan out.

Thanks
Sharon

Thanks for that will defo keep in mind. It's not went off since.....very strange alarm I have lol

It might have been a little moth or something that was flying around inside triggering the alarm - but now maybe it has escaped  or sadly you might have sat on it
:D

Hahahaha probably the latter, besides no longer my problem, freelander got traded in yesterday and I'm away to the world of audi for a few years

Hmmm well it wasn't my worse driving experience but not the best either.

Audi has been a great ride from the onset........ok with the exception of the fact the flywheel needs replacing........but that's what warranty is for lol
