there's something so very wrong there

can't see nuffink wrong with it myself.;):p

As you've already crumpled the filter the chances are that a 3 legged filter wrench aint gonna do it. Have you tried stabbing a screwdriver through one side of the filter and then out the other side? You can then use the screwdiver has a handle to turn it with.

Get your chain right down at the base of the filter near the thread end and don't worry about it crumpling a bit, just give it some welly and it should come off. I've had one stuck badly on a series 3 as it hadn't been touched for years. It shifted in the end but the filter was pretty mangled by the time it came off.

does it matter what state its in when it comes off??? its scrap anyway?

i would like to see this 8yr old 2000 model with a twin turbo td in :D

As Ratty said! If you can't stab a hole through it with a screw driver, knock a hole through it with a punch or some other long, sharp pointed object. Don't drill through it! Can you please put up a picture of the twin turbo? I'd like to see how that's been done / possible! :D
