help auto gearbox

hi....as you are all aware i,v changed the engine in the rangie bmw diesel..........due to old engine giving up the ghost....anyway finaly after 4/5 months all together and engine runs sweet as a nut,,,,,,,,,,BUT.....now
the auto zf box which worked a treat before we changed engine which now only works in 1st and reverse,,,,,,,so dropped out the oil , changed the filter ......filled up with new ATF,,,,,got drive to work with 1st and reverse.....but no oooomff at all and in drive will not change up at all.........can anybody help me please.........regards....chris

Get the fault codes read, I wonder if it could be a sensor, also check the electrical connectors to the gearbox on the nearside near the cable quadrant.
