Hi ppl coming back from young farmers
tonight I booted it abit out of the county offices went down a back lane stopped at nxt junction went to pull off and blarph..... Huge clouds of black smoke and hardly any go, first though was fuel filter but lol that wouldn't explain the smoke....... Air filters fine erm dunno... I know it has been tweeked prior to owning it, i'm getting the person who tuned it to contact me
tmoro as I need it for towing tomorrow to find out exactly what nut/bolt he dis touch
cheers in advance
phil
p.s. It did this action once before when towing I'd detuned the truck thinkin
he'd touched the max fuel bolt but soon returned the setting as
I thought it was running lean.... Obviously not

Could be the air pipes from air filter to intercooler to turbo .. if they're originals they're known to have an issue with de-laminating inside. The delamination creates a flap that opens up under pressure, cutting off the air supply, hence the black smoke, then often it'll pick up again when pressures off, so awkward to detect if you don't know about it.

Remove the pipes and feel inside them .. you can often see a tear or rip along an inner laminated section, see if you can pull a flap off it. They need replacing if it is this.

Also check for pipes that are loose, weak ie they bulge excessively under pressure, or have major rips in them .. ;)

Okie dokie I'll get on that soon as I can, prob gonfor some shiny sillycoon ones if that's the case  will look into uprating if I ever find a cheap intercooler unroll then prob gonna clean old one out

Found it!!!!!!! I think the actuator arm had flown off..... There's also a dopey lookin bottom flexible pipe on the intercooler hopefully that shud do it even cleaned out the cooler while it was off
