Hello i'm Luke,

New to both landrovers and forum stuff so please bare with me. I have finaly brought a Land Rover I went for a 1995 Discovery 3.9 V8i S! I have always been into them and after going out in my best friends (Jim Kelly A member on this site) 110 I thought i would bite the bullet.

So my first day of Land Rover ownership started good a got a gr8 deal on the car only paid £600 it has a months m.o.t but having looked all over the car its straight no rust anywhere, good brakes etc etc so i was confidant it would pass the mot.
Having drove home problem free i thought all was well, untill i took it to have the engine cleaned after there was a missfire, it carried on for about 35 milles and seemed to go so i thought it was ok. untill it died! i called the rac and the man said it was the coil as there was power going to the coil but not coming out also there was no injection pulse.
Sunday morning i brought a new coil and it still does not work! i'm not sure where to go from here whats the likly cause? somebody has told me it could be the ignition modual could that be and where is it located on my car.

Thanks for your help,

Luke

You'll need deep pockets to run a V8. Thirsty buggers they are get an LPG conversion as soon as you can afford it. I wouldnt trust the advice of an RAC recovery driver They're all failed mechanics that couldn't hack it in the real world. Loads of peep on here run v8's I'm sure someone will be along shortly to offer suggestions.

I'm surprised that you opted for a V8 landy after knowing how much jim struggled to find fuel money for his denzel. Mind you I spose that if you're pushing it everywhere it doesn't matter what fuel it's meant to run on.:p

If you've lost coil and injector pulse you need to look at the cam/crank sensors.
