Hello everyone

I'm Tom from Worcester in the West Midlands.
I for filled a life long dream and on Monday and took delivery of my first ever defender an 89 200tdi.

After the initial excitement I went into freak out mode looking at all the stuff that needs doing to it. I thought I'd best join a forum to leech the wealth of experience on here. I'm currently prepping it for it's MOT. Falling at the first hurdle with the LED indicators fault!

You'll probably see me around asking stupid questions

Cheers
Tom

Welcome to LZ, Tom! :)

Nice place, Worcester, I have moored in Diglis Basin a few times.

1989 vehicle is probably a Ninety, retrofitted with a 200Tdi Disco engine. Good choice, Probably the most capable standard off roader LR ever made!

Hi,

Yes, I used to live on the basin.

Yeah that's exactly right, it's just had a brand new galvanised chassis as well. Bit of a triggers broom. I'm pretty sure the bulk head is 89 and the rest from other bits!

I'm essentially finishing off the conversion and tidying bits up. It's been more of a learning wall than a curve but I'm loving every minute of it.

Cheers.

Hoping that was in a boat, not in the water itself? :D

That sounds like a top class vehicle. I have one, all original, and on the standard chassis, very little welding on it.
