Hey gang,

Brand new to landyzone but I've had my hippo for about two years now. An 04 Freelander SE with the 1.8L petrol engine and auto trans.

I love my Rover and am planning a month long road trip of Northern BC and the Yukon where I think we will really get to know eachother.

Im in the process of modding a few things for the trip. I've already done some mild off roading with it, but the plan is to deck it out with a few more accessories before I leave in July.

I look forward to sharing progress reports and getting input from the community on what to do / not do.

Cheers!

Welcome, What a fantastic part of the world to live in (if you've got thermal underwear!). Not normally a Freelander fan but very interested to see what you do with it for a trip like that. Pics would be great. :)

p.s. Any more poop hits the fan globally can we (2+cat) come live with you! I'd say if Donald Trump becomes President as well but if that ever happens there'll be no place far enough away! Too late for that one way trip to Mars now :(

Thanks for the warm welcome!! If you ever need to escape civilization I would be happy to help build a landy commune in Canada with you.

I'll absolutely keep people updated with pics etc.

I think the plan at the moment is to throw some toyo AT 18" tires on there. As well as some bucket racks up top, headlight grills, front winch, light bar, and potentially some magnetic sidings to shield her from too many scrapes in the bush.

At the moment all the work I'm doing on it is to bring it back up to scratch. New headlight casing. 2 new window regulators. New hosing for the coolant system. New front break pads and rotors. Re-wired and replaced the labels on the crazy fuse system that made absolutely no sense. Last thing left to do is replace the cracked front windshield (got a little too close to a high speed logging truck coming down a gravel road).

What sort of Landy you got?

A 90 at the moment, have had two Series III 109s in the past. :)

Watched a fantastic tv 'survival' series (not the normal run of the mill pants reality stuff which makes me want to launch the tv at the contestants) last year called 'Alone' which was filmed on Vancouver Island; pretty unforgiving territory in places and some wild weather! Still a beautiful part of the world though - outstanding in good weather.
Maybe if we win the lottery a landy commune in Canada would be a most excellent idea! :D Cheers. Welcome aboard.
