Hi, I'm Jon from Northumberland (Morpeth to be exact). I bought my first Land Rover in October '09, a black 2001 Discovery TD5 'Adventurer'. Bought it on a whim to be honest after seeing it on Ebay! Had fancied one for a couple of years though and just thought I would splash out for a change whilst I was fortunate enough to be in situation to do so.
The weekend after I got it I took it to an off-road event in Kielder Forest (good timing!) and really enjoyed seeing what these vehicles are capable of. Have looked into taking it off-road again but it seems quite difficult to find anywhere round here to take it (legally)...
I've also enjoyed driving around in the Disco over Christmas and the New Year when we had more snow round here than I can ever remember. The tow rope I bought came in handy too!
I'm bu no means an expert or a mechanic, but I'm keen to learn more about how LRs work.
Would be happy to hear from any fellow Land Rover enthusiasts, particularly from Northumberland, Tyne & Wear, Cumbria, Borders, etc.
Without wanting to look like I've just joined to get some help and advice, I will be posting another thread in the Discovery section requesting advice on the good old rear air suspension (dropping an inch or so at one side), if anyone cares to help.
Cheers,
Jon
