Hi All
I joined this forum many years ago because we were going to buy a Land Rover to tow our Airstream but things went another way and and we got another vehicle.
Well that vehicle died and was not worth saving and now (or very soon) we have a Discover 1
I don't know very much about the vehicle at th moment. It belonged to a friend who sadly died a few weeks ago and I have bought the vehicle from the family so I can save it in my friends honor.

I will have more info in a week or so when I collect the vehicle. It does need a lot of work but it is all stuff I can do myself (with your guidance) so I am not too bothered.

Expect a lot of questions

Paul

Thank you for the welcome.
If I am honest I don't really know. I do know the sills are almost non existent but I have no idea about the boot floor or the inner arches etc but I am not paying very much for it and I can cope with welding most things so I am not that worried. To be honest I would rather have to do the work myself than deal with a solid car that has been badly repaired in the past. We will see what we are up against when it turns up

I should pick up my Discovery in the next week or so. I know a little more about it now. It is a 1997 so 300Tdi I am guessing. It has a winch bumper and working winch fitted. Is this going to pose a problem when it comes to insurance?
I also need to get insurance for the day just to get it back to base. Any recommendations?
Paul
