hi all

We have a Disco 3 and a few months ago the heater blowers stopped working. Has become a problem now it is so cold.

So far I have replaced the relay in the fuse box and checked the motor works and this seems fine. There is no power getting to the motor as far as I can tell but can’t work out why?? Thought it might be the resistor but this doesn’t seem to be getting a feed to it.

Any other ideas??

Thanks

hi Dave

could be the blower control unit ( BCU) or a thermal internal fuse, which is located inside the BCU

this link should help u https://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/d3-heater-fan-resistor-faulty-89026.html?highlight=heater

will be easier to get the codes read, if nothing shows up a decent multimeter will allow u to start tracing it back

start at the fuse and go from there

plse let us know how i get on

Sorry for the delay in coming back on this one but I only got to the bottom of this just before the Xmas break. In the end it turned out to be a broken wire behind the fusebox. This meant that the relay and fusebox tested OK, the motor tested OK and I tried a new resistor (despite the fact I couldn't pick up an incoming live).

An autospark found and fixed the problem for £40 so all sorted now!

Thanks for the pointers.
