Heater blower

Hi all
Av looked at the threads for and don't see an answer but

Blower has stoped working there is power there changed motor with working one
Relay clicks when you turn it on and off .

So can the transistor if u/s stop the blower from working.

Photo 1 is my disco td5 2 control unit.
Photo 2 the two relays on the left of the unit the far left is the one that clicks.
Photo 3 can this stop the blower for working ?
Can any help ?

The short answer is no , as the transistor provides an earth path for 30 speed settings to the fan and a default speed 31 full blast is available as a back up if the transistor fails.
You need the circuit diagram 2000 my rhd and the electrical library to understand the system which I think are available with the rave down load elsewhere on here.
The climate control unit has some diagnostics capability which is described in the electrical library.

Both relays need to work for the system to operate

The positive feed to the fan comes from fuse 7, 30amp drivers side fuse box to the relay with 5 wires and from there on a white /red wire to the motor.

The negative feed comes from the relay with 4 wires on the black/orange wire to the fan.

You could try turning the climate control on making sure that it is not in economy mode and turn the temperature settings to low on both sides and switch the fan to full and you should hear or feel both relays engage.
If only one engages the problem is probably the other has failed.
If both engage and the fan does not run, turn off and disconnect motor, then bridge the white red wire to the appropriate connection at the motor turn back on and then earth the other motor connection using minimum 3mm diagrams wire for both connections.
If the fan runs the problem is in the negative (earth) path to the fan, if the fan does not run the problem is in the positive path to the fan.
 
Yes these are the relays, the numbers I quoted came from the circuit diagram, not part numbers, as far as I know these are the only relays in this part of the car, I recently had a similar problem to you in that my blower fan would not run and I used the procedure described to identify a fault in the positive feed which I overcame by wiring in a new feed to the relay from the fuse box rather than trying to discover and rectify the actual fault as this was the easier option.
 
If you set the climate control up as previously described,, then switch unit off with switch, wait a few moments you will hear or feel the relays switch off, then switch on you can hear or feel the relays close as they engage again, this is not instantaneous and may take a few seconds.
