Ok chaps. My nearside headlamp beam is a bit to high, but how the hell do you adjust them?
I looked in the usual places behind the light box but there's no obvious adjusters. Is this just another stupid LR thing that they have made a simple thing hard, or am I missing something.
Cheers for your help folks.
Andy.

Don't know how to explain this but here goes on the top of my near side headlamp there are two boltss that screw into the chassis that hold the whole light unit to the chassis these are plastic and have both broken clean through and I have been told today that I will have to buy a full headlamp unit or try and glue these back together,
Is this correct or can the part of thew light unit be replaced,
I have a freelnder 2ltr td4 station wagon 06 plate, it has three light units in one.
can you please give me any advice

I dont have definite answer as i have never had a 2006 model, and the website i use for parts list etc has been down for a while. but after searching i think its

part number: DYP000011

although these are metal M6 bolts. not plastic. Id be very surprised to buy new unit for the sake of a plastic screw. id drill out the old one and improvise.

assuming this part, the part number is for number 9 bolt

yes that's the bolts they are metal but they go through the plastic that's attached to the light unit then into the body,
It's the two plastic pieces that are part of the light unit that are snapped off from the the unit,
looking at your diagram you see where the bolt goes through that is what is snapped on both bolts, the bolts are fine I have taken them out and put them back in.

Hey Cox325!
Nice diagram, where did you find it? I've been trying to find the rave manual hoping it may be more explicit and with diagrams like that one, Can't seem to find a free download. Any ideas?

Land Rover parts

foreign with little english. you can right click on pic and save as etc.

As for the plastic tabs i'd probably glue, aralidite or summat really good and hard!! If your not worried about how good it looks go with what andrew says in post 6 or cable ties.

I'd get the glue out though, i'm not an expert but maybe a resin or fibreglass repaier kit from halfrauds, dunno how much room you have on the tabs to work though.

Hi,these headlight "tabs" cannot be glued,if it is a clean break then maybe they can be "welded" back together.I managed to this on a set i had using a soldering iron.Remove complete light from car.Offer broken tab together, place a bit of tape underneath to hold pieces together.Find a strong piece of wire (i used fuse wire). With wire make a small figure 8 by winding around a screwdriver then place the figure 8 equally over break, now with soldering iron place onto the wire 8s with little pressure the heat of the iron will melt into the tabs, dont go too deep though only to cover the wire "if you know what i mean".Then looking at the back of headlight housing, cut a small snippet of casing away then melt this together with soldering iron over the breakage.Hope you understand.
