Another place is island 4x4 and hope ur able to track one down

Many thks ref the D3 posts , has been very interesting and always nice being able to help other fellow members

Only had my D3 nearly 2 x years and surprising how quickly u pick knowledge up

I’m no ethical warrior, was just sick of them stealing my Prime membership money, and then not ever being able to find my address. They didn’t even blink when I cancelled, I used to spend circa £3k per annum!

I’m a full on Land Rover nut, trying to ‘sneak’ another one in past the Wife.

I can’t afford a 110.

Love my D2, but it has to work fetching and carrying around the horses (so won’t ever be nice).

Toying with the idea of a P38 and am aware of electrical gremlins (am happy with the challenge). They seem to have gone up in price so started looking at the L322’s, but pixelation issues being so basic and prevalent doesn’t bode well with the rest of the vehicle. So...

Started looking at the D3. Frankly, major belt, pump housing issues unresolved by LR, coupled with the fact some faults require the body lifting off, don’t thrill me either.

So, am no further forward, pending a lottery win

Maybe a P38 it is...

Hi

Quite understand where ur coming from, ages ago I ordered a tv, every one turned up broke, 4 th time they just said go elsewhere , so knew from then on customer service was non existent

If ur interested in a rangie ask over in that section as there very helpful in what to look out for

May i ask out of curiosity what jobs do u think the body needs to come off on a D3 plse

I had all my belts and the upgraded oil pump cover replaced , done every 105,000 miles or 7 x years

Also Land Rover Mad, had them around 25 x years now and wouldn’t have anything else

Good luck if u can sneak another one onto the drive, lol

I honestly don’t know, but the fact you might need to rules me out as a DIYer.

I might be able to sneak another vehicle past the missus, but not the vehicle lift, tackle and workshop to fit it in

Hi

U can replace front and rear timing belts , turbo, with the body on , if the gearbox is removed the crossover rear pipe can also be replaced , is very rare the body need to come off

Can do all ur suspension as well with the body on, unfortunately there are a lot of myths around where some think the body needs to come off for the rear timing belt , that can be replaced in an hour

Hope that may clear up a few myths for u

Yes, cleared lots up thanks.

A 110 is the dream vehicle, so might just have to try and work out how to afford one!

In the meantime, I need to get my D2 back on the road. Hawkeye here I come (when I can get my hands on one!).

Ur welcome

110s are very nice but blimey there overpriced , along with having to do all the extra security , still the D4s are also being nicked at an alarming rate, 40 x seconds and gone

Did look at some D2s first but alas couldn’t find one with a decent chassis , even thought about buying one cheap and doing a re chassis , but then this project D3 turned up and the chassis on these are considerably better so thought was worth a punt

Also looked at L322 but insurance was through the roof

Hoping to keep mine as long as possible

Have u managed to track down a Hawkeye yet , any piccies plse of the D2 , thks
