I'm trying to hardwire my warn m8000 as it didn't come with a wander lead but don't know exactly what i need or how i wire it, i was thinking that i could use some 6 core cable to connect to each wire on the solenoid then back to the cab with a relay and a switch?

    thanks oli

You need to check which wires go 12v when you winch in and out. These are what you connect your switch wires to

Test light or a meter, if you have neither get someone to do it for you or find a wiring diagram for your solenoid

It must be wired wrong somwhere has it got a good earth??

Like said before you have 2 solonoids both have a positive feed which when switched live spins the motor either forwards or backwards all you need is 3 wires one which is perm live for the centre of the switch then the two switched lives one to each solonoid if the winch is wired up and the earths are good it should work for you.
