I like this stuff. It makes you maintain things more regularly. I can’t remember the amount of other things I have found whilst annually touching up and checking the soft underseal.
i thought what you used was ok
unless its had the rust blasted off the last thing you want is a hard underseal, water just wicks up between the twoWaxoyl does "harden" if it put on thinly, however as Discool said it will wash off
And if too thick it just stays like putty.
best use the proper underseal one, if you want it to harden
