Not having done any proper spraying in 30 years I need a refresher. (it was furniture finishing back then)

Whats best for vehicle spraying, suction or gravity feed, what size nozzle, what to pay for the gun, etc etc.

I have a SIP airmate hurricane 25lt, max 8 bar output.

My 110's paint is leaving home a small bit at a time, was thinking of doing the respray myself as keen to try most things.

Cheers for any advice.

Gravity feed. HVLP. Use far less air & at lower pressure than the old suction feeds.
Common fluid tip size for most vehicle refinish materials is 1.2 to 1.4 although best to check the Technical Data Sheets for the material you will be using.
Quick google of your compressor brings up an ad & shows a SIP Cobalt gun (link doesn't want to work)
My own compressor is a 2hp & will cope with a gun of that size BUT it's running continuously & I'm not sure whether a 1.5hp will cope so perhaps someone running a 1.5hp will have a better idea.

I sprayed all the panels for my 110 rebuild last year. I used a sealey HVLP, gravity feed with a 1.4 nozzle/tip. My compressor is a little bigger though, it’s a 3hp 100ltr. It was on and off during spraying, but I reduced the output pressure down to around 25/35psi (can’t remember exactly, but the data sheets for the paint will give a clue as to what pressure to start with).
