Hi All,

A bit of a shot in the dark but I hope you may be able to help.

I have a prospective son-in-law whose recently turned up in a 56 plate Range Rover Vogue Overfinch. Probably hoping to impress the prospective father-in-law. Fair enough I guess but is there any way to check if it's a genuine Overfinch or a Range Rover Vogue with Overfinch lettering and badges on it?
Does the V5C show a full designation? Or should there be a certificate of authenticity from the factory?
Many thanks for any help you can provide.

Welcome to the forum.
And holy Mary mother of Jesus, are you going to buy it off him or just checking his credit score covertly, a little creepy
Dontcha think! lolz
Not credit score. Over protective father, maybe, who's interested in the honesty and integrity of someone his daughter's going to marry!

You could always ask him.
Hardly. The question might go: "Is that a genuine Overfinch? And, while we're at it, could you tell me the real reason your 3 previous wives left you, or why none of your 3 business ventures lasted more than 2 1/2 years?:(:(
Er, and No, I'm not joking.
Of course, you might want to ask how come my daughter is seemingly exercising such bad judgement (the Overfinch is only one piece in a big jigsaw). I guess that might be down to bad parenting?!?!

An Overfinch usually has some distinctive features..

Wheels, spoiler, bumpers and in some cases side skirts.

example below

it should also have the overfinch bespoke badge on the tailgate and grille

Call overfinch and pretend you are looking to buy it and asking if it is legit or not?

Cheers
Thanks Neilly. I was going to but thought they'd just tell me to check the V5 or their certificate of authenticity [assuming they issue them]?? And they went bust in 2010 but are back in action now. I don't know if they'd keep archive material from their bust business. But failing an answer here, I'll give it a go. Nothing to lose, as they say!

Overfinch might also have a record of all the cars they've converted.

You could also if ya want shoot them an email with Reg and Vin attached and see if they get back to you with info.. :)

One big problem is there are a few replicas out there because overfinch parts can be had off of Ebay and various other sites, and a standard model can be dressed up .

So the Overfinch is not the real reason you are worried.
Certainly. Nice cars. I'll buy one if I win the Lottery!

If she is old enough to make up her own mind then you are not going to be able to do anything about it anyways. Cheers
Very true but it wouldn't stop me trying to protect her (and my grandchildren) from a gold-digger. [she has some assets. He's got a credit card!]
