Last night I noticed oily marks on my spare wheel cover when I unloaded my shopping but did not think much of it until this morning when I opened the backdoor and where I was parked was a great big oil stain about 12" in dia.
I rubbed my finger over it and it smelt of bio diesel, I thought **** here we go with yet more problems and I have not had the motor a month yet
I had no time to look and had to leave for work as I had a 45 min journey and was late as it was. When I arrived it turns out I was double booked with another charity so I was turned away
On the way home I was thinking well at least I can get that leak looked at now as there was a steady drip drip from under the engine bay when the engine was running.
My journey home passed me close to 4x4 Land Rover discovery defender range rover freelander service and repairs specialist for Kent, Sussex, uk so I popped in and asked in reception if they had time to look a fuel leak for me. The guy came out looked under the bonnet and pointed out a split pipe along the top of the rocker cover between the injectors. He went off returned with a new pipe, fitted it and told me no charge shook my hand and went off, even refusing a fiver I held out to him
I need a cambelt in the next few months plus my gearbox fluid changing and I think they well may be getting my custom for the great service they gave me this morning.
My engine bay wont be rusting thats for sure now as its coated in bio, I have to get the pressure washer out now and clean the drive as well as my car. Its sure fun being a Disco owner
