Hi all, just joined, after having purchased a Series 3, '88, Station, Petrol, 1979, RHD (it has been imported from the UK many decades ago).
Had a 1971 109" many years ago, also a station, but had to sell this moving abroad.

Hope to learn a lot and have fun here and hopefully can contribute too.

Welcome from Wales

You got a name for it? :)
Hhhmmmm... never thought about it much, we just refer to it as the Landy, like we refer to our daily drivers just as Saab (2004 9-5 2.3t) and Zaf (2001 Operl Zafira 1.8). Not exactly fanciful, I know. Give it time and once I get to know her character, I'm sure a name will come to mind :)!

There’s a song there somewhere :)
Your suggestion reminded me of the Kinks' Lola:
met her in a club down in old Soho
Where you drink champagne and it tastes just like
Coca Cola
C-O-L-A Cola
She walked up to me and she asked me to dance
I asked her her name and in a dark brown voice she said, "Lola"
L-O-L-A Lola, lo lo lo lo Lola

Sorry to say I'm sufficiently old to know the song and sing along (after beers mentioned before...)

Very tidy series that.
For my own education, is that a vented roof? Must get a bit draughty ..
Welcome :)

Thank you, already having an excellent time here.
I believe it's also known as a "safari" roof. It consist of double roof panels, one pretty much as normal, the second one is indeed a couple of centimeters over the roof itself. The idea is that the outer panel can easily heat up but the heat doesn't transfer to the inner roof, so it doesn't get as hot. This inner roof also has 4 vent holes that can be opened to let in fresh air. Under the direct sun it'll make quite a difference inside, I imagine. Will take a few pics one I'm back from my trip.
