Well, that's me back up here amongst the trata's then. Just picked up me new III from Salisbury. The weirdest thing wuz driving a series without me foot flat on the floor!

Sat at a shade under 70 (GPS calibrated) most of the way back on the A303 and got around 16mpg. Pleased with that.

Overtook a 90 doing about 75, steering was a wee bit scary, but wuz worth it to see the look on the guys' face :D

Right, best go & see what colour all the fluids are.

In the words of Raf Vallone...

"Your car? ... Preetty car!"

Doesn't matter what the handlings like as long as it's ok at 70ish. Done any lanes innit yet?

When you two have quite finished!

Nope, the 90's getting stripped of the bits I want this weekend then getting flogged fer what I can get.

Just at the mo' I luv me III. Ask me again Friday after it's bin to Gaigers fer a MOT. Should only be minor stuff if anything, but if it ain't I'll be grumpy again.

I know what you mean Daft... Rangie V8 sounds nicer and has a few more bhp and about 1k more max rpm... but it's down on torque by about the same amount as it's up on power compared with the tdi - so real world isn't going to be a whole lot different.

Expensive way to get a nice exhaust note I reckon... a trip to Halfrauds for one of those twin tip chrome jobbies and a new gearbox for the tdi would have been much more sensible :D

Aww... come on Marcus! You can go off buyin' stuff the rest of us want (economy and motorway practicality notwithstanding) without expecting some ribbing into the bargain!

I expect ribbing fer breathing on here. ;)

Mind you the day I fit a chavster crome exhaust box to a TDi or any other
Landy fer that matter I'd expect more stik than I got fer the snorkel debacle. Shoot me, just shoot me.

Marcus,

I couldn't be a pain in the butt and ask for some pics please. I need to know where the bulkhead is cut as mine is being done in the next coupla days. I'm welding in my roll cage this morning, then my III engine is coming out for the v8 to go in, cos it's taking up space in the workshop ! hehe...

Also, a coupla pics of how the throttle cable go on would be appreciated.

Cheers

Gordon
