Freelander 1 Good spare parts list

Loads of queries on this one so how about a thread where we can all post links to spares that have been good? Obviously we won't know how good until they have been in service for a while and so it will be important to update and amend as required. Even if we cover just the key components that are needed to keep the vehicles on the road it would be beneficial.

I'll start it off !! I bought new lower front ball joint and arm today and liked the suppliers claims. 2 year warrantee and built using supposed good quality parts in the suppliers workshop. I have no interest in the supplier by the way!! Liked the quality and balljoint is bolted in for future replacement. Those are still fine on my TD4, been on there 2 years now and the boots haven't split yet.

Great news. What we need is a pinned thread to put the confirmed good parts suppliers on. So the above for example with some history to back it up. Moderators please? We have good garages so good spares too? Thanks

Agree, I use the oil. Bought in 20L drum it is less than a couple of quid a Litre.

@andyfreelandy I did try this a while back for Britpart stuff that’s actually ok, but it degenerated into rants about how crap Britpart was. Maybe yours is a better approach. No links, but all tried and trusted for years:

Drop links, ball joints: Lemforder.
Clutch and slave (Td4): AP
Prop bearings: GKN - should have FAG bearings, if not, send it back.
Front brake pads and discs: Britpart
Filters: Britpart exc. fuel filter.
LP pump: Pierburg or similar - should cost £100+.
Back exhaust box: Bosal
Rear brake cylinders: TRW

Things NOT to buy:
Britpart/allmakes/Bearmach front caliper slides - they don’t fit.
Aftermarket driveshafts
“ LP pump or filter
“ exhaust box
“ prop bearings
“ wheel bearings
