Now then, Rover originally had their own 2ltr diesel in there but succeeded by a BMW unit once under their ownership so never had anything to do with Toyota at all.
What makes you think a Toyota engine fits it unmodified?
As I've never see an engine conversion on an FL1 i would be interested to see your efforts an a Toyota powered Freelander
