glass age?

Just had the windscreen of my RRC repaired & the tech. disagreed with my assumption that the 'screen was the original, but couldn't say how old it was. Is there a way to determine this info. from the coding at the bottom corner of the glass?
All the side windows are marked Triplex xxx but the 'screen is AW.

I used to play tennis for the Triplex division of Pilkingtons way back in 1959/62, if that counts!

Am I right in thinking your windscreen has a top tint? If so that was no original on RR s or disco’. I still have the sales brochures for my RR and and every model year up to the later so called Range Rover Classic.

There is a large AW followed (underneath) by some letters which I take to be a BS code & under those the digits 43R-001166.
No dots.
I'll get my other 'arf to take a pic with her I-pad over the weekend.

You are right about the top tint (sort of blue colour).
The 'screen is obviously quite old as it's starting to de-laminate on the extreme edges.
I too have sales brochures covering my model year ('87) together with the manuf. price list & also a price list for accessories dating from the early 'nineties.
I also have colour brochures for the early 2 door models.

Original LR screens are marked "Land Rover" and "SunDim" or something similar, aftermarket replacements aren't.

AW could well stand for Auto windscreens which would make it a replacement
AW were around in the 80s & 90s but were taken over by Autoglass, I used to go rallying with one of the AW area managers.

Don't know if I qualify for that exalted title but I've owned four RRC's, one 3.9 & three 3.5efi's, all autos.
Some of the literature I got with my most recent steed over ten years ago, the 2 door brochure from ebay.
