Seriously, this is worrying so I thought I would ask....

George is a 1999 4.0 V8 petrol and since I have had her MoT'd, NOTHING further has gone wrong!

She starts and runs beautifully every day.

Drives at (ahem) 100+ mph when required, easily out accelerates those stupid little boys in their Fiesta's or Corsa's when they are thick enough to even try, and nothing has dropped off!

What is WRONG with this Range Rover ffs?

Why won't it break down?

:D

*jogs on* :p

Mileage? Head gasket due around 120k.
Well, she's half way past 87k, but she had a major bottom end rebuild around 50 or 60k after some LPG related hassle.

I have no problem imagining I "will" have problems, but right now I am basking in the summer of love from George.

Long live George the Alaskan blue babe up in the heilans :p

On a somewhat more, but not much, serious note, almost everyone I meet are impressed with the colour and condition she's in. Last night, guy at the gig walked around her and shook my hand. Told me she looks immaculate and that I must look after her. He was a mechanic who deals with loads of them and this is the first immaculate P38 he has seen so far.

Proud

You clearly have met my gun dog clan as the all have that name on occasion.
On my shoot, all the dog's were called YOU BAST*RD !!. My springer was named Morse, not after the detective as most people thought. She had markings down her back of dot dot dash dot which in morse code is F so she was F in Morse and if you have ever owned a Springer you will know what I mean.:D

That's no mileage at all. Good for another 30k at least before niggles due!

Today, I had the oppo to collect some bits for work from Hamish at the 4x4 centre.

I thought George had bottom end work.

Turns out it was a whole brand new out of the box engine complete

So the actual mileage on the engine is around 30k

So how long do I have to wait for the head gaskets to go?

:p

Next week for the head gaskets, next month for the liners to go ;)
