Hello all,
I noticed an intermitent vibration from my gearbox around 40mph. I realise that the gearbox in my 110 is going to be noisy and vibrate a fair bit but this is a very sort of localised vibration.

Thanks for the help in advance

I am purely guessing as most of you will know my mechanical knowledge is almost noexsistant but t seems to be coming from that area. If ts not the gearbox what else do you think it could be.

No I haven't been able to do anything yet due to my ribs.
It only seems to be the one UJ right at the back but could this still be responsible.

Thanks

At first I thought it was just a noise then I noticed that there was a bit more vibration from around the gearbox area roughly.

Thanks agian

Not yet. I tried to go back on monday but only lasted 45 minutes before my boss sent me home but the worst part is that it is a 3 hours round trip to my work so a hell of a lot of effort for bugger all work really.

I really am not having you on at all I am just as thick as mince when it comes to vechicles. I have never worked on any before and I have no idea how they work really.

Could you possibly advise me on one other thing instead of me opening a new thread about a simple question. The mats in my footwell are soaking wet and at first I thought it was because the doors have a wee leak at the top but I found they got worse after driving on wet roads even though it wasn't raining. Do you think water would be getting in below the floor panel?

Thanks again Grunt, also who is the other Dopey?

It'll be getting in through the hole someone made to let the water out!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The floor panels are fastened in with a few self tappers and some sealing tape the seal is probably knackered, I ended up leaving the mats out.

Dopey he's on at the moment I think, a bit further down the screen.

Yeah I found him, I didn't even realise there was another Dopey.

I have had to take the mats out now as they are sodden and falling apart. Can you get rubber ones so they don't hold the water? I have had a look on fleabay but couldn't see any specifically for a landy.

Thanks MHM I couldn't see any actual mats just the sound proofing system which is a little outside my budget at the moment. However I do quite like the look of the rubber checkerplate or is that frowned upon like normal checkerplate?

Well I disagree I have had more help off this forum than all the others I have tried put together and the banter in here is enough to keep you laughing for an age except when you are off your work for 5 weeks!!!!
