Series 3 Gearbox problems

right so my series gearbox won't select or drive in second gear. The other gears all work fine so I'm a little stumped as to what the problem is. I'm praying that the second gear cog hasn't stripped as a recon box is going to cost me nearly £1000 ounce I have factored in shipping and I ain't got that type of money at the minuet.

does stick move to 2nd gear position or not

right that was what I was afraid of. I'm going to have to find a cheaper solution. Would an lt77 box from a defender fit in a series 3 88 with an adptor to fit the series transfer case.
