hi all could any one tell me what size the star drive oil filler plug is on the side of the box i havent got one and need to get the right sixe thanks roger

Hi Roger, it might have been helpful if you told us the type/age of Disco and whether it is manual or auto?

However, guessing that it's a TDi 300 manual gearbox, you need to get a T55 Torx bit. To get the 32mm sump plug undone you need a good quality 32 ring spanner (if a gorilla has been on it, it'll take some getting off) - if you try with an open-ended spanner you risk rounding it off.

Cheers
Dave

If it helps,I got a impact driver set with torx bits in it !/2" drive,so with that and a breaker bar ,gave in easily-likewise 32 mm socket +breaker bar for drain

I seem to recall that you have to use a ring spanner for the sump plug as you can't get a socket and driver in there.

You're right there isn't much room, but enough room to undo a couple of turns, and also the doing back up-the last bit.The 32mm socket I've got is quite shallow and out of a large "Lidl" socket set-works for me
