Well, after the troubles with the transfer box on my disco that in end exploded, now its the 90!!!
My friendly land rover mechanic, which is my neighbour, took my 90 to work with him this morning to do a complete oils change ( as I cant be fked to lay on my back on my drive and dont have enough leaverage to undo the plugs)
Anyway, that's all fine, but to start with he says the magnets on the bottom of the transfer box are full of metal bits..and the oil that was in there was almost mud! great!!
and secondly, the 90 had been making a rubbing noise, kind of metal noise when driving, which I thought it was a brake pad rubbing, or a wheel bearing, but he just called me saying its the bearings in the gearbox? as even if you press the clutch, the noise is still there!
does anyone have any experience, or know about these bearings fault? is this a case of putting another gearbox in? can the bearings be replaced?
bollocks! and this just has the winter season is starting!!!
