You buggered up a T55 plug Jack I think this is an ordinary hex plug that has been rounded off.Don’t ask me

when my hammer and chisel fail
I’m out of options.
Problem is the plug is such a weak metal and internal itd sooner mash than move. Think I put locktite on it when it went in

Have you got an oversized torx or allen bit? Maybe access to a welder to tack a nut on?

Had to use a chisel to move mine, made sure didnt over do it when put it back had to order new one from poland (well somewhere over the water) something like £16 it was also bought a 17mm single hex ring spanner to fit new one with a normal multi point ring is too loose a fit and rounds plug off . It has to be spanner job not a socket because there not enough room between prop shaft and gearbox for one.

Drop the front prop and give yourself more room. Then get some good molegrips and get a really good bite on the plug. So you can only just close the molegrips and it'll shift. It's a soft as shïte the plug so the molegrips can sink there teeth in nicely. If not then hammer and chisel would be next.

Did BMW/GM just use random bolts from the parts bin? I did my gearbox (Td6) last weekend and the filler plug was a countersunk T50, a badly chewed one and so tight that I was gung ho in the end, convinced I would have to drop the gearbox, but without warning and with a grazed couple of knuckles it finally gave way. I was mighty relieved, good luck with the mole grips

Reminds me of an R380 box that had a stripped filler plug, ended up filling the box through where the shifter goes.
