Gearbox fail! Help?

Td4. Pulled out of Asda went for second gear and nothing! All linkages fine and connected got home mr AA helped with a tow! Took the plate on gearbox where linkages go in and the shaft going in to gearbox has snapped inside box wtf! What can I do?

Replace or repair the gearbox I'm afraid. Getting a second hand replacement will be the cheapest option.

I have an 02 plate Td4 with a good gearbox that’s going for scrap, but it might be too far for you to come.

I’ve used both, and all went well.

Pop a new clutch and slave in there while you have the box off.

I can recommend GOS. I had a good gearbox and linkages from them and their shipping charges were reasonable considering where I am.

Changing the gearbox is a bit of an epic task though. If you need a garage to do it the labour charge will be steep.
