Gearbox adjustment help

Hi Jeff here I am a new member so pls bear with me. I am stuck !! Help !!
My Defender 90 sometimes does not go into 1st gear. All other gears are fine, my gearbox is different to the manual, bias springs for adjustment are not visible, it has two lugs with adjuster screws HELP :doh:

Just avoid using 1st gear til you can afford a re-build or a re-con box...you'll be fine in second..

I've managed 5 months without reverse....only 6 weeks to go!!

What type of gear box??? age and year of landy, would help to. Lt77 gearbox reverse is left and up, R380 is right and down.....If the two adjuster screws are on either side of the gear stick they are stops for reverse and 5th gear.
Think you gear box is on its way out mate, try putting it in second gear then into first, just might slip in.
More info will deffo get you more advice..........and avoid the **** taking which is bound to come.
