Hi all,
I am just about to put my Td5 90 through a rebuild. I wanted to change the gear ratio to make it more drivable on the road but is this seen as a performance upgrade by my insurance company.
Thanks for reading,
Dan

I wouldn't bother as it is a standard and interchangeable part in many Land Rovers.

Not to mention that nobody would actually know only you as it would take forensic level investigation to know if there was a difference.
Thanks for your time. Yeah I would agree with that

Agree my 101 came with a box of bits in cluding rrc transfer box gear but I have know idea if it is anybody know how to tell? as i'd like to upgrade as well.

Well, to tell, they'd have to be counting gear teeth .... which, as already said is highly unlikely unless you've caused massive damage to something.... ( if you were to sink some cruise ship or other, somehow, o_O , they might look a bit deeper than they would for a "normal" car accident  )

To attribute the liability to you, and thus under the contract, not them .... they'd have to prove it was you, too .... of course having asked them, you have decided not to do it ...;)

I'm also pretty certain that they would have to demonstrate that the undeclared modification was a causal factor in the accident. Mind you I think the word demonstrate massively overstates the minimal amount of evidence they would need before sloping shoulders.
