Can anyone identify this gasket?
It's in the bottom end set, it's not coolant passage one behind the timing case. I'm pretty sure the brown one came out of this engine.

Will shortly be starting to panic.

Gawd, its been donkies since I rebuilt my 2.5na and there is always gaskets and o rings etc that are surplus enen in elring 200 gasket kits.
I do recall seeing that one though just can't remember where it went.
Guess? Cam belt tensioner( if there is even a gasket there) ??

Again, another wild pee poor guess, the covers on the FIP side, one has the lift pump, one has the breather, I recall gaskets (maybe) on the breather side?
Memory is poor.

Thanks, your memory is better than mine since I only took it apart a few weeks ago!
You were right with your first guess, I found a exploded parts diagram online and there's a gasket on the studs that the belt tensioner sits on. Only trouble is it means taking the timing case off. Which has some quality gasket sealant on....
Guess I better order some more gaskets.******* **** *******!

It was the slotted hole that made me think that it's something that adjusts.
I wouldn't tear it down again just yet, maybe pm James Martin and he may know how important it is? I can't see (again from memory) that it keeps oil in but it might act as a shim to enlign the tensioner to the belt if you know what I mean?

it covers hole that would have fed tensioner with oil on chain driven engines, and acts as a spacer
