Deepest Darkest...
Have for some time been looking at the Garrison door deadlocks sold by some of the LR security resellers and have baulked at some of their pricing.

With the power of google, have spoken directly with Garrison who confirmed they do kits for LR's, asked about price and all in they're £34+delivery lower cost than the resellers. So have ordered a set.

It's only a small saving but every little helps

All security helps.
I’ve never been keen on anything with a euro barrel though. Not after making a few quid removing them for people with snapped off keys. Not that the key is the problem but an 8 mill drill bit makes very short work of entry.

These are/were high security jobbies. However, I've received a most peculiar email from Garrison stating that after further in house discussion they do not believe the lock sets will nor fit. This is bollocks and I smell a rat...I'm thinking that the resellers who overcharge may have some sort of exclusive supply to market deal with the manufacturer; this of course is highly illegal and contravenes a whole host of anti-competitive regulationo_O

Out of sheer stubbornness...it's a family trait...I'm going to find another way of completing a secondary lockable door security function; I don't like the word 'no'.

I ended up designing my own central locking with deadbolts and no keys :D
I know a few have used up and over garage locks as dead bolts and they look good with little modification needed.
The problem with a euro barrel is its on show. The garage locks are just a hole and escutcheon on the outside.

Never come across a euro barrel that took more than a few minutes to open. Wouldn’t bother trying to pick one or break one. Takes too long. A quick centre punch 3 mm under the rotating cylinder and an eight mm cobalt bit above the pins and they all fall out. Job done and a screwdriver opens the door.
That’ll be £200 plus the new lock madam. :D

Can confirm this type fits perfectly in defender doors. As if made for it! Had it fitted for years without fault. Recently fitred euro cylinder locks and not sure whats best yet..
The above shown ones fits well in rear door too that along with rear quarter window guards feels secure(homemade guards ofc)
Will find few photos when on computer

I like the idea of not advertising what the lock is. The fact all you can see from the outside is a hole makes the wannabe thief have to dick about working out how best to crack the lock even before he tries. With a euro he instantly knows what tools he needs and how to bypass it.

The escutcheon plates from the garage locks will after abit of filing allow the insertion of the eurolock key. The euro locks I used are 35mm and doesn't stick out of the door. Did it this way to avoid mud and gunk going into the cylinders and added bonus is its hidden

Whats the general thought re 2nd row doors in 110 statin wagons. Is there a point in extra door locks on those. Heard about the steel ruler trick thou does it work to gain acces?

Attached photo of the rusty doors wth garage lock installed. The 2 Stainless mounting bolts and the exit hole for the pin shown

Well guys, I've bought the bloody things now. Two for front doors, one for rear door, two for garage door and one as extra fun for one of the sheds/spare.

inhave those fitted to my shed and garage door didn’t even think of fitting them to the LR

Just out of interest, does anybody do anything about the hinges?

From memory, only a nut and a pin holds each rear door hinge, and if you remove them, you can just remove the door, I should think?
