Hello all,

New 200tdi owner here. The thing was in a bit of a state when i got it, switches wired incorrectly etc. So i was wondering if i should be concerned about these missing fuses? Have they simply not been replaced? The others are all fine.
Im assuming it wouldnt do any harm to simply put fuses in these slots, right?

Have you looked in your manual to see what they should be connected to? It may be that your vehicle does not have the equipment they are for.

If you do decide to add a fuse then make sure to keep an eye out for smoke. Might be worthwhile using a small fuse first.

Cheers

On the picture i attached it shows the symbols but i dont know what they mean... i also thought it may be 'missing' equipment.
Thanks for the warning. Ill do a little more research before waching in some fuses

You could do with an owners handbook, or RAVE to tell you what is what. A search on here will find you the RAVE manual download link (FREE!!) - and a vid on you tube by LZ's very own Saint.V8 on how it works......:)

@Disco1BFG ,

I did not think Rave covered the 200tdi. Although some of it may be useful, I would think some of it may be misleading. Just a point to keep in mind.

Cheers

Aye, agreed - no problem. :)

The OP said he didn't know what the little symbols on the fuse "box" mean - hence my comment on the owners manual.... or RAVE...( i could have been clearer on the "or" bit )

:)

I'd say that the picture of the fuse box, supplied is fairly straightforward.
The colours of each block refers to the colour code for the fuse which fits.
The symbols are also pretty easy, the "A" and "B"columns are fairly easy to read, the "C" column photo is a bit truncated so it can't be seen fully.
  • A1, A2, are dipped headlights, the arrow shows which side. 10 amp each
  • A3, A4, are main beam headlights 10 amp each
  • A5, A6, are side/tail lights 5 amp each
  • A7, front windscreen washer and wiper motors 20 amp
  • A8, blower, probably cabin heater. 20 amp
  • A9, Rear screen heater. 30 amp
  • B1, interior lights 5 amp
  • B2, Rear fog lights 10 amp
  • B3, Indicators 15 amp
  • B4, Trailer Aux socket 15 amp
  • B5, Horn 15 amp
  • B6, Rear screen washer/wiper 10 amp
  • B7, Cigarette lighter socket 10 amp
  • B8, Fuel filler flap 15 amp
  • B9, Radio 10 amp
  • C1, C2, Electric windows. Arrows show which side. 30 amp each
  • C3, probably central locking. 15 amp
  • C4, Probably electric door mounted mirror motors. 3 amp
  • C5, C6 Temperature controlled fans. 20 amp each
  • C7, Not a clue but it's 5 amp
  • C8, Hazard flashers 15 amp
  • C9, No idea, but it shows a flame so it could be something like a fuel burning heater, and it's 20 amp
If you check the fuse box carefully, you'll see that the active fuse positions will have little flat metal sockets in them whereas the inactive ones will have nothing in them.

Thank you for the tip on looking for the connectors. I could not figure out c7 either...
