Hi there,
I have a 1996 tdi Disco 300 series

Its de- catted, and the EGR valve has been removed, up until Friday past it went like a train.

It started to lose power, then refused to rev over 3500 revs, cutting out and dying, felt like fuel starvation

I replaced the lift pump (new), no better, I have since run a direct feed to the injector pump, run it with the intercooler hose off to eliminate the intake side, checked the exhaust isnt blocked, run it with the fuel return pipe disconnected to eliminate a pressure build up there.

The injectors were overhauled 9 months ago, including new nozzels/, and are spitting out when shes running and I slacken the injector nut.

I have just replaced the injector pump with a second hand one that was going well

Still doing the same thing

I am now ready for the asylum, so any ideas would be much appreciated!

Thanks

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all the help.

I managed to solve the problem, and it was a partially blocked centre exhaust box

Exhaust was clear at low revs, but over time a piece of flat carbon deposit had form a flat disc, and was sitting in the pipe in the box,

When the revs hit a certain level, it stood up and acted like a butterfly valve!

All sorted now, and going as well as ever,

Thanks again for the advice

Gordy
