Fuel sender unit

Anyone know whether its possible to buy just the top of the sender unit or does it come all as one part? The union bolts and pipes are corroded where they run into the plastic cap on my 300tdi - seems quite expensive to replace the whole thing..

Hi there mate, I've heard of people sealing these rust holes with various products ranging from Araldite to Chemical Metal.

The only really proper way to do it is with a new sender unit - Paddocks do 'em for about £50.

Okay someone help me out here - I have a choice of 2 parts how do I know which one mine is??

Sender Unit - diesel to KA065556 - DISCOVERY 1
Sender Unit - diesel from KA065557 - DISCOVERY 1

Sorry if this has been covered many a time before..

Hi Graham, it depends on the VIN/chassis number of your vehicle, if it's before KA065556 take the first one, if it's after take the other one. As it's a TDi 300 ES, it'll be after the KA series, as that was TDi200. It might help people to help you, if you put the year of your Disco in the sig.

Your chassis number or VIN will start something like SALLJGMF******

CHASSIS NUMBERS ARE THE KEY TO ORDERING THE CORRECT PARTS !!

Ahaa I see, is a '95 - thanks will check the VIN# tomorrow
